Sometimes, you may be in a hurry to get ready and in all that hecticness, you may accidentally spill some of your makeup over your carpet. As you know, makeup can really create a mess and leave a lasting stain on your flooring! If this has happened to you, don’t worry. Cleanpro in Cleveland would like to share a few ways to remove the unsightly stains makeup leaves behind.

How to Get Makeup Off Your Carpet

Powders (Blusher, Bronzer, Eyeshadow or Setting Powder)

  • If there’s any excess powder lying around, vacuum it up.
  • Mix warm water and soap and use it to lift off the stain by dabbing it with a clean cloth.
  • Make sure to repeat this process until there’s no trace of a stain left.
  • Let the area dry once you’re done and that’s it!

Liquid/Cream (Foundation, Concealer, Cream Blush, Lip Products)

  • Carefully remove any residue with a spoon. Avoid expanding the stain.
  • Sprinkle baking soda over it and let it absorb the stain for around 15 minutes before vacuuming it off.
  • Now, apply a bit of shaving cream to the spot and dab the area with a moist towel. Keep going until the stain is gone.
  • Lastly, allow the carpet to dry completely.

Waxes (Mascara, Eye and Lip Pencils, Lipsticks)

  • Spray the affected area with soap and warm water and blot the stain off with a clean towel (be careful not to rub and spread the stain).
  • Repeat this procedure until the spots are no longer there.
  • Let the carpet dry completely.
