In order to keep your carpet clean, you’ve likely considered several options. However, you may not know that there are natural carpet cleaning methods that are great for your home, family, and carpet. Here at Cleanpro we focus on cleaning that is green and safe for your family, with no toxins to harm them. If you want to do the same for your family, between professional cleanings, then we’ve got some great ideas for you today as to how to make natural carpet cleaners for your home.

When you decide the time is right to begin making your own carpet cleaners, you should begin by preparing a list of common natural cleaning items:
  • To help remove grease, mildew, and odors from your carpet, you’ll do well to put white vinegar on the list
  • Another great item to help remove odors as well as set in stains is baking soda
  • Though essential oils don’t actually aid in stain removal, they are a great method to help keep carpet smelling its best and a great extra additive to any home cleaning product you make

Now, in order to make the carpet cleaner for general, not set in stains, you’ll want to complete the following steps:
  • Get a spray bottle and fill it with equal parts white vinegar and water-in order to dilute the vinegar
  • Spray the mixture onto the stain that is troubling you
  • Using a sponge or rag as well as some warm water with a bit of soap, blot the area until the stain is gone
  • You can repeat this as many times as you see fit

For more set in stains you can get a bit more serious with this next mixture:

  • Mix ¼ cup of salt, borax, and white vinegar
  • Using a spoon, begin to mix the items-you’ll find that they’ll begin to turn into a paste
  • Again, using a spoon or other dull edged instrument, apply the paste to the carpet
  • Allow the paste to sit, for a few hours, to ensure that it is dry
  • Once the paste has dried, remove it by vacuuming
  • You can repeat this as many times as necessary or use it in combination with other methods

Remember, whatever method you decide to use, you should always experiment first with an area of carpet that is less seen, perhaps below a large piece of furniture, to ensure there will be no adverse reactions with the chemicals you choose.

Once you’ve kept your carpet clean, naturally, at some point it will be time for a more thorough cleaning. Remember you can also trust us to care for your rugs and upholstery.
